QV1721 Video Processor

The QV1721 is a single-chip, full-featured video processor based upon the award-winning Quartics Qvu architecture. The QV1721 was designed to create the best possible viewing experience for high-quality, cost-sensitive Laptops, Netbooks, and consumer electronic devices. Internet applications such YouTube, Hulu, Netflix, and Adobe Flash as well as industry standard applications such as Blu-ray and DVD, are all significantly enhanced by the QV1721. Decoding of all the industry standard video codecs such as H.264, VC-1, and MPEG-2, are supported up to full 1080p HD resolution. The QV1721 can decode any HD or SD industry standard compressed bitstream, encode raw digital video into HD content, and transcode or transrate one HD video bitstream to another. Image quality enhancements are provided irrespective of the chosen video operation, producing a viewing experience noticeably superior to that of the original. Digital video, transport stream, or PCIe interfaces are provided to ensure compatibility with all video sources. The QV1721 is capable of decoding, encoding, or transcoding one HD stream in real-time or multiple SD streams simultaneously and supports all progressive and interleaved formats. Due the its architectural flexibility, the QV1721 is capable of rapidly supporting updates to existing codecs as well as implementing future advanced HD codecs, as they become available.
